Armor


  • Chariot Armor (Bonus to Armor TN +4, +6 while mounted; Reduction 3; Special Rules: Wearing chariot armor increases the TN of all Skill Rolls using Agility or Reflexes by 5 unless riding a chariot or mounted on horseback.)
  • Isawa Armor (Bonus to Armor TN +7; Reduction 3; Special Rules: Wearing Isawa armor increases the TN of all Skill Rolls using Agility or Reflexes by 5.)
  • Leather Armor (Bonus to Armor TN +2; Reduction 1)
  • Tribal Armor (Bonus to Armor TN +3; Reduction 2; Special Rules: Wearing tribal armor increases the TN of all Athletics and Stealth Skill Rolls by 5.)
  • Wooden Shield (Bonus to Armor TN +5; Reduction 2; Special Rules: Carrying a shield increases the TN of all Athletics and Stealth Skill Rolls by 5.)

  • Masakari (Keywords: Iron, Peasant, Medium; DR: 0k3; Special Rules: The masakari is a medium weapon, but is considered a small weapon for the purposes of the Iron keyword; Emphasis: Characters wielding a masakari gain a bonus of +1k0 on Damage Rolls when performing the Called Shot or Increased Damage Maneuver.)
  • Ono (Keywords: Iron, Large; Special Rules: The ono is a large weapon, but is considered a small weapon for the purposes of the Iron keyword; Emphasis: The total of all Damage Rolls made with an ono are increased by 1k0.)

Knives

  • Kama (Keywords: Iron, Peasant, Small; Emphasis: Characters wielding a kama gain a bonus of +1k0 on Contested Rolls against opponents when performing the Disarm or Knockdown Maneuvers.)
  • Tanto (Keywords: Iron, Small; Emphasis: Use of a tanto confers one Free Raise toward use of the Called Shot Maneuver.)

Spears

  • Nage-Yari (Keywords: Iron, Medium; Special Rules: The nave-yari is a medium weapon, but is considered a small weapon for the purposes of the Iron keyword; Emphasis: Damage Rolls with a nage-yari when thrown are increased by +1k0.)
  • Yari (Keywords: Iron, Large; ; Special Rules: Damage Rolls with a yari against mounted or significantly larger opponents are increased by +1k0. The yari is a large weapon, but is considered a small weapon for the purposes of the Iron keyword; Emphasis: A character wielding a yari gains a bonus of +5 to his Initiative Score while it is readied.)

Staves

  • Bo (as L5R RPG 4e; Emphasis: When using a bo, the wielder’s Armor TN is increased by their Insight Rank.)
  • Jo (as L5R RPG 4e; Special Rules: The jo is a medium weapon, but is considered a small weapon for the purposes of wielding two weapons; Emphasis: Use of a jo confers one Free Raise toward use of the Extra Attack Maneuver.)
  • Nunchaku (as L5R RPG 4e; Special Rules: Nunchaku use the Mastery abilities of the Chain Weapons Skill; Emphasis: The total of all Damage Rolls made with nunchaku are increased by 1k0.)
  • Tonfa (Keywords: Peasant, Small; DR: 0k2; Emphasis: When using a tonfa, the wielder’s Armor TN is increased by +1, or +3 if wielding two tonfa.)

Swords

  • Chokuto (Keywords: Iron, Medium; DR: 2k2; Emphasis: During the first round of a skirmish, a character wielding a chokuto may ignore 2 points of Reduction from armor when making melee attacks against his opponent.)
  • Parangu (Keywords: Medium, Peasant; DR: 1k2; Special Rules: Double the Armor TN bonus conferred by an opponent’s armor when they are being attacked using a parangu; Emphasis: Opponents’ armor bonuses are no longer doubled against parangu attacks.)
  • Tsurugi (Keywords: Iron, Medium; DR: 2k2; Emphasis: While wielding a tsurugi, the first Raise a character declares on an Attack Roll for the purposes of the Increased Damage Maneuver grants an additional 1k0 to the Damage Roll.)
  • Yobanjin Dao (Keywords: Iron, Medium; DR: 1k3; Emphasis: Use of a yobanjin dao confers one Free Raise toward use of the Disarm Maneuver.)
